Is kēpos vegan?Updated a month ago
kēpos is not currently classified as vegan.
While our Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) and human-identical lactoferrin (hmLF) are produced through animal-free precision fermentation, the starting materials—particularly in the HMO fermentation process—may involve substrates derived from dairy (such as lactose). Though these substrates are fully consumed and removed during production, trace-level origins may still matter to strict vegans.
We’re committed to transparency and exploring future versions that meet certified vegan standards. If you follow a plant-based diet but are not strictly vegan, kēpos may still align with your values and goals. We recommend discussing with your practitioner if you’re unsure.
